I'm also having the same issue and I tried reinstalling the software.
Error:
fork/exec /Users/blank/Library/Arduino15/packages/arduino/tools/avr-gcc/7.3.0-atmel3.6.1-arduino7/bin/avr-g++: no such file or directory
Compilation error: fork/exec /Users/blank/Library/Arduino15/packages/arduino/tools/avr-gcc/7.3.0-atmel3.6.1-arduino7/bin/avr-g++: no such file or directory
Your system seems to be confused as to which user is logged in. In one case it's using "nikel" and in the other "blank". The file exits under my username on my system.
please ignore that I actually edited that when I posted the error here.
