ERROR ON MY ARDUINO UNO

Hi I just experience a problem on my arduino uno. My program wont upload to the board and I cant use anymore the external reset button. I tried the Loop back test but i cant hear any echo on it.

I already used this board and it is working last night I test it now with another code and use a motor shield then suddenly it cannot upload anymore

I checked the device manager the Com port where it is plugged in is USB Port is that correct? I think it should be Arduino Uno..

An error message pop up and said:

Please help

Loopback test fails with nothing connected to pins 0, 1?

Do you have ~5V on the 5V pin,
Do you have 3.3V on the 3.3V pin?
Is the Reset pin at ~5V?

Is the USB/Serial chip next to the USB connector hot?
Is the 328P chip hot?

Those things not being as stated could indicate what's wrong with your board.
Often the Atmega16U2 chip next to the USB connector gets zapped, and then serial comm's stop working.

i shorted pin 1 and 2... shorted also the grd to reset.. Both chips are not that hot...

For the loopback test, you need to short pins 0 and 1, not 1 and 2.

sorry my error .. yes i shorted 0 - 1 TX and RX pin
