We're trying to read registers from an attached modbus device using the PLC IDE. We can add the generic modbus node following the instructions here but when we try to map the holding register to a variable we get the following error:

Any idea what this means? If we click through we encounter another error and a blank screen.
I'm also not 100% on the RS485 wiring. It's a half duplex device so I have:
Device Data + -> RXN -> TXP
Device Data - -> RXP -> TXN
Thanks!
Usually, all the positives are connected together and all the negatives together.
Device Data + -> RXP -> TXP
Device Data - -> RXN -> TXN
Thanks! Rewiring didn't fix the error, but good to know going forward. For anybody else looking, uninstall / reinstall didn't change anything, either.
I'm seeing the same error. Modbus on the PLC IDE seems to be unusable at this point.
Yes, I attempted to contact support but have heard nothing. We've abandoned our project for the foreseeable future.
Have you tried opening the HTML file and commenting out that line?
I have not. It's not open source so I didn't want to go down that rabbit hole if there's no way to actually commit a solution.
We're just going to use Automation Direct's workflow instead.
Condolences. I'm also struggling with this. I'll try a bit more and then probably switch to the AD Click.
