So when i try to upload a sketch to my ATMega i get this error:

avrdude done.  Thank you.

the selected serial port
does not exist or your board is not connected

When i try to upload the same sketch to an arduino the Vtarget part looks like this:
Programmer Type : Arduino
Description : Arduino
Hardware Version: 3
Firmware Version: 4.4
Vtarget : 0.3 V
Varef : 0.3 V
Oscillator : 28.800 kHz
SCK period : 3.3 us
I can upload a sketch without a problem to the atemega that im using if y put it into an arduino dip socket, and when i try to use a and FT232 breakout board the sketch uploads without an issue, so i think that the issiue is my FT232 IC but i dont know what is wrong.
Btw the values of VTarget and oscillator and the others change every time i try to upload the sketch

Any ideas?
