Hey there,
i am Nandan. I am getting the above error pl. help me out..... as soon as possible

Is the board detected by your Windows system?
Check this:

  1. Unplug the USB cable
  2. Open the device manager
  3. Plug the cable in again
  4. Does device manager show a new device?
-> if yes, open the new device and check what COM-port was allocated
This is the COM-port which has to be selected in IDE, together with the right board (Mega) and as programmer use "ArduinoISP"

-> if no, you need to install the right USB/serial communication driver to get your Mega detected

that is not working out.

The rx led starts blinking

that is not working out.

what do you mean by "that" ? -> be precise!

The rx led starts blinking

ok, and now? What shall we do with that information?

Pls go back to my previous post and tell us exactly what you did and what the results are.

I tried

When I try to upload the rx and tx led blinks alternately after 5 seconds.

This were not my questions and instructions.
Did you check with the device manager if your Mega is recognized at all by your PC?

yup, I checked it all.

yup, I checked it all.

Fine, and with what results?

the results were:
