Oh I didnt connect any of the pull up resistors or capacitors. Also I connected the sensor to the 3.3V part of the arduino. Could the fact that I didnt have pull up resistors have affected the readings? I will look for the stated resistors and use. I will let you know if there was any difference in the readings obtained.
