Errors uploading sketches

I am suddenly having issues with uploading any sketch to my Arduino. After I ran into issues with my sketch I just have tried to just upload simple sketches (Blink) on both Uno's that I have an am having no luck. I have had no problem in the past and have uploaded sketches many times but for some reason it won't work now. I am using a Mac and checked that I am on the right port and is still a no go.

the error I am getting is

User configuration file does not exist or is not a regular file, skipping

Using Port : /dev/cu.usbmodem14201 Using Programmer : arduino Overriding Baud Rate : 115200 avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00 avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding

Any help solving this would be greatly appreciated

Remove any connections to pins 0 and 1 on your Arduino board. These pins are used for communication with your computer, including uploads. Connecting anything to these pins can interfere with uploads.

Make sure you have the correct board selected from the Tools > Board menu.

Make sure you have selected the port of your Arduino board from the Tools > Port menu.

Sometimes the port will be labeled with the board name in the menu. Other times it will not. If you don’t know which port is your Arduino board, you can find it like this:

  • Unplug your Arduino board from the computer.
  • Tools > Port
  • Note the ports, if any, listed in the menu.
  • Close the Tools menu. The ports list is only updated when the Tools menu is re-opened, so this step is essential.
  • Plug your Arduino board into the computer.
  • Tools > Port - The new port listed in the menu is your Arduino board.

I have done all that and still the same issue. I ended up trying to upload the blink sketch on one of the Arduinos on a different computer (PC) and it worked so I am thinking that it may be an issue with some sort of settings with my Mac? I dont really understand how things would have got changed on the Mac because it was working properly before. I am thinking to completely remove the Arduino IDE and library on my computer and reinstall it.

It's not a huge process...So you can try it out..
