ESC led flashing and no BEC output

My ESC used to work fine until suddenly I turned it on and its red led is flashing and the BEC outputs only 1.2V. I'm not sure what the issue is since I didn't change any connections.

This is my esc: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32904941021.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dAJ4tmZ

Does My ESC have any datasheet that You can provide a link to?

A guess.... Look for a short on the output.

My bad, I added the online listing to my post. I did the continuity test on the output 5V and GND and there is no short.

Okey. What voltage do You feed it with?
From the link: working voltage: 3.0V---9.4V.

I'm using 2 li ion batteries in series (8.4V).

I note there's no specification of the BEC. My guess is it's a linear type and you've overloaded it and killed the regulator. Too much current.

It's been fine up to now, strange if that is the reason; I only have a 9G servo connected so there isn't much load. I was tiding the project up and the esc turned on on its own and was flashing and no output on BEC

Fine. That's safe regarding voltage. Later reply suggested amps used possibly being too high for the driver.
Test the driver using a light load like a bulb using 1/10th the current of the motor.

Sorry I'm not sure I get what you mean. By driver do you mean BEC? Do I connect the light where the motor goes?

Yes, the BES/ESC.... My mistake, mixing things with an other topic.

I hate to be redundant, but do I put the light bulb where the motor goes on the ESC; or do I connect it to the BEC?

Where the motor would be.
My mistake. Could You at least draw a block diagram of the build? Links to the units might get interesting.

Try measuring the BEC voltage between red and black on the receiver connector with nothing at all connected to it (i.e. no receiver or servos). If that is only 1.2V I would think that in "tidying the project up" you accidentally shorted something and damaged the BEC regulator. If it's back to 5V unplugged then you have a low resistance somewhere acting like a short/high load.

Steve

Yeah I must've shorting something as there is only 1.2V on the BEC output when the ESC is connected to power only. A bummer, but I have a few of these ESCs laying around.
