I found recently interesting theoretical research papers for WLAN mesh networks and I’m going to implement it on ESP8266 WLAN modules.
I‘m looking now for already existing good projects for WLAN mesh network building. The Best possible case for me would be open source Cisco-Like software, with already implemented different routing protocols, WLAN features (like coverage hole detection, seamless client handover, Radio Ressource Management options and so on) but at least the project should be able to build a stable mesh network.
Additional software Pakets for debugging, Wireless data collection and evaluation (some kind of airtools, SDR)
I have no experience or knowledge of ESP8266 WLAN Modul, so may be my question isn’t correct, but I hope you omens some good projects. (My knowledge is about industrial Networks (mostly Cisco) and basic programming skills)
