Well I think if someone on the forum give irrelevant or erroneous information, others should try to correct them, otherwise someone else reading the topic may actually use the erroneous information to their detriment.
I would be surprised if there is any modern MCU without ESD/protection diodes nowadays. Especially those destinated for hobby boards.
