Hi everyone, has anybody had experience with changing the charge rate of esp32 boards? I am currently using an Adafruit esp32 feather v2 board that has a charging circuit and I believe the R4 in this diagram is limiting my charge rate to the lithium-ion polymer battery connected. It also defines charge current based on the resistor used.

You can find info like that in the datasheet of the MCP73831/2 charging chip.
Page 15 has the formula to calculate charging current.
With 5k1 it's 1000/5k1 = 196mA.
The specs of the battery will tell you if that's safe or not.

Adafruit supports their products, and their forum and "getting started" guides are the best source of expert advice.
Did you ask Adafruit if there were any implications for modifying the circuit of their board ?
Thanks @Wawa I will take a look at what you linked.
I did ask on their Forum, but they have not replied to me yet.
