ESP32 NMEA 2000 connection issue

I am trying to debug a device on my NMEA 2000 network. So I built a listener from an ESP32 connected to a Waveshare SN65HVD230 CAN Board and used Timo's example ActisenseListenerSender-ESP32. CAN RX is on GPIO 4 and TX is on GPIO 5. The M5 connector is grounded on the ESP32 board. I cut the terminator from the transceiver and connected it to my home N2K network (powered by a 12V battery; other devices are RPI and wind display).
The only sentences I see on the serial port are
3735 : Pri:6 PGN:127258 Source:3 Dest:255 Len:8 Data:FF,FF,FF,FF,FF,7F,FF,FF
4612 : Pri:7 PGN:126720 Source:3 Dest:255 Len:16 Data:E5,98,E7,8,0,A,3,1,3,C,F3,AD,F6,27,11,1
Which seems to indicate I'm transmitting those two frames but not reading anything from anyone else. I recall seeing a similar problem in another forum but now I can't find it.
Any suggestions are welcome.
