ESP32 Thing vs ESP32 Thing plus

Hi all, I just read about the ESP32 Thing Plus, I already have ESP32 Thing at home. I was wondering if the Plus, which is based on the wroom instead of the WROOVER, is better? It looks like it has less GPIOs and only 1 I2C block.. Is it actually better than the original thing?? And also, I cannot tell between the Thing Plus WRL-17743, WRL-14689, or 1568-WRL-15663-ND‎... which one is the most recent or has the best specs??

It depends on the application and the cost of implementation. If you are just playing then get the most IO and memory etc, if it becomes something you can easily scale down, scaling up can be harder.
