Esp8266 connection error

tried connected nodemcu esp8266 to laptop, in device manager it does not show under ports section but instead it comes under universal usb controllers as unknown usb device(Device descriptor request failed)

Depending on the exact type the USB to TTL controller may be either a CP210x or a CH340, have you tried looking for a driver for the USB port ?
