hi ive just turned on laptop and esp8266 was missing all the boards ,was there last night ,can not access wemos d1 r2 now saying its not esp32 ,esp32/arduino esp32 /avr are the only options available ,last night i had esp8266 ,have been trying all day in prefs i have put http://arduino.esp8266.com/stable/package_esp8266com_index.json. but does nothing ,ive even uninstalled ide and reinstalled the same 2.3.2 version ,i removed some of the libraries ,not sure what else i can do have installed 8266master and sdk but still not available

After you added the link to the JSON file in Preferences did you go into the Board Manager and add the ESP8266 boards that it makes available ?

i have tried that and theres nothing in there for esp8266 ,i have downloaded the 8266 master but on trying to install error13 internal comes up ,most libraries im trying to load says in sketch its missing but when i try to install it says either error13 or do you want to overwrite so they are there just not recognized

hi in prefs http://arduino.esp8266.com/stable/package_esp8266com_index.json go to boards manager and look for esp8266 which is not there ,have looked at different posts and on says micobot url,esp8266 url in prefs it starts loading and says some boards can not be installed

Which Operating System are you using and what have you changed or installed recently ?
I cannot make sense of what you are saying. What microbot URL are you referring to and where are you seeing it ?

up have done it entered arduino-cli core update index into prefs and 8266 community appeared in boards manager done
