Esp8266 webserver help

Dear other programmers,

I recently uploaded my first website to the esp8266, Horaay!
Now I was wondering if it is possible to directly show the website when a client is connected.

Normally you have to type the IP of the esp into your website bar of the browser.
I direclty want to show the client my website, without typing the IP in that bar.

I couldn't really find a similair topic. Perhaps I didn't search the right way.

Can somebody help me?

Try looking for information about a 'Captive Portal'. I think that operation is similar to what you are describing.

The 'WiFi Manager' library uses such a scheme which is where I came across the term.

Thanks Don for your reply!

I looked it up on the internet and found something interesting.
You can redirect clients with the DNS.

Although it isn't really what I am looking for.
I want something like in coffee shops, that the client directly sees the webpage of the esp, when he opens the browser.

I found something!

The ESPortal code is a good example.
The code is for fooling people, but it is quite interesting if you search for DNS and other redirections!

Have fun!
