ESP8266 Wifi to FPV QUAD

I am trying to connect via wifi to my FPV(drone) connecting the wifi module via RX/TX to the flight controller.

Other than flashing ESP8266 AP client(access point) is there anything I need to add to the sketch to make the module talk to the flight controller?
