ESP8266 with Arduino IDE - upload verification

I have a few of these and I tried all sorts of things with them. For the most part, they work well, but I have two that are finicky and crash randomly. I suspect that the flash quality is poor, based on what I read on the web.

The IDE integration uses esptool to upload the firmware, but I don't see any indication that the flash upload is being verified. I believe that by verifying the flash I could avoid wasting time testing the two problematic modules.

Does anyone know if there is an option or a hack to use the tool and verify the upload, much like what avrdude does?

Thank you.

You can use the verify option with esptool:

Right, but this is part of the IDE integration, how/where do I find where to set it?

Go ask your question on http://www.esp8266.com in the Arduino forum.

Thanks Ray,

I should have thought of that.
