ESP8266 with OLED (NodeMCU) - Ideaspark - Driver Installation

Hello to whoever is reading this, hope your are doing well. Let me put you in context: long time ago I bought this board on Aliexpress and now, for a final subject project (University) I have decided to use it. Surfing on forums I found a lot info to develop on this board but I have a bigger issue, my computer does not detect this board. Of course I think is because of the driver that I've not installed, but I don't know which driver I need to install. I've tried with the CP210x (CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers - Silicon Labs) but when I install it, Windows cannot install the driver because it cannot find drivers fot this device.

If someone know which driver is the essential for this board I would be very gratefull. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!!

Get out your magnifying glass and look at the chips closest to the USB connector. It will either be a CH340 or a CP2102. Just Google something like Arduino Windows driver ch340. When you find it, install it, and you should be good to go.

This page makes it look like it is not "plug and play" (perhaps six years is too long for information to remain valid) - with a board support package that needs to be "make"d/built. marxy's musing on technology: Arduino ESP8266 with on board OLED display
