So whenever I try to fiddle arund with my ethernet shield, I never get an answer to my pings, nor does my network seem to recognize it being there whenever I plug in my ethernet cord to the ethernet shield. It's an enc28j60 and a Duemilanove Arduino I'm using.

What IP address did you give it? Is it one that makes sense in your network?
