Ethernet Shield V1.1 (ENC28J60 Chip) Problems finding code that works

I have a older Ethernet shield (ENC28J60 chip), I find the current Ethernet Shield Librarys do not work, the examples for the V1.1 I have found do not compile with ver22 IDE program.

Can anyone point me to code that will work with the older V1.1 Ethernet Shield
