The Leonardo is still pretty new. The Ethernet shields talk to the Arduino via the SPI pins. Some shields connect to the SPI pins via the ICSP header. Some do not. If your Leonardo has an ICSP header (6 pins together in the middle of the board), then any Ethernet shield that uses the ICSP (like the official one) will work.
