Alright. I spend all day playing with the code, and I'm glad to say it worked!! I used your code in post 28 with an adjust value of 3 to get readings for the channel numbers of my remote (for the cable box). I think part of what was missing was yesterday I didn't get the readings in a dark room and with the receiver 6 feet from the LED (as you recommended).
Then, I used the SendRawDemo in v4 of the library to send send a matrix of the raw data to my TV. What I didn't realize before was just how close the LED needed to be to my TV or my Cable box (less than a foot). I found this out when I was trying to read the LED's transmission with my receiver (it would only show up from a foot apart).
This worked for both the cable and the tv, so I guess the sony being at 40KHz wasn't a big deal.
