This instructable has correct schematics and code but both code and schematics are MISLABLED.
That is to say, the code labled Transmitter is really the receiver code and vice versa.
The schematic labled Receiver is really the Transmitter schematic and vice versa. Other than that, it works perfectly and it has two features that everyone wants in a cheap RF circuit
1- keyboard input (type anything you want and it comes out the other end)
2- LCD display of received text.
(Note-transmitted text must begin with a SPACE and end with a ".")
Also-Transmitter antenna should be 22 gauge solid copper insulated hookup wire 30 cm long wrapped into a coil using a pencil,
and receiver antenna should be 20 cm long , made out of the same kind of wire but straight instead of coiled.
Basically what this means is that if you buy one of these Transmitter/Receiver pairs
for $ 1.28 + $1.95 shipping EACH
you can send text from one arduino to another and display the received text on an LCD, all for less than $5.
(I didn't know where to post this but it seemed like something that would be useful, and all you have to do is remember the labels are reversed for code and schematics
