Do you have something already...?
The gear and servo won't be special, just need to be tough.
The battery and all won't be to hard to find.
But what about the angular measurement, did you have any research on that? A type?
You could go with a flex sensor, like Flex sensor
But i'm not sure if it's rugged enough.
