External crystal on nano33 iot

I know it's a long shot...
Is there any way to add an external crystal to a Nano 33 IOT board ?

Thanks

What do you want the crystal to do ?

Provide more accurate timekeeping

my Nano 33 IoT looses 27 seconds in an hour with the Time library. MKR doesn't have the problem. the difference is in external oscilator

What sort of projects do you have in mind ?

The Nano 33 IOT has, by definition, the ability to connect to the Internet and could, therefore, get the time from an NTP server

If the project is located where no Internet access is possible then why use this board in the first place ?

Slow down Bob...

But you're right. I just "imagined" the board had a crystal and didn't checked before.
Anyway, I'm already getting the time from the NIST servers every couple of hours and that is probably enough for the accuracy I want (a fancy alarm clock).
The alternative is to change to the MKR WIFI 1010 board

I have had success with external DS3231M or similar chips, which you can get in small-footprint breakout boards. I find asking for the epoch that it can sometimes really hang waiting for the response, so if you need to do it less frequently, that is better. Although there is little difference size-wise between an IoT + DS3231M board and a MKR 1010, plus you can add a backup battery!

why not just use a Wemos D1 mini?
