External low power consumtion clock to power off arduino

Hi,

is it possible to buy a device that would serve as a very low power consumption clock that would power off Arduino?

The idea is that there would a pin on the clock. Arduino sends a digital signal to the clock via the pin stating: sleep for 1 hour. The clock would power off the Arduino. After an hour the clock will power on the Arduino again. The clock will wait for another signal from the Arduino to power the Arduino off.

Yes.

There are external RTC modules like this one which have alarm which can trigger the Arduino to wake

Thanks a lot.

I like the DS3231, precision real time clock, with alarm. Less than $2 on ebay.

I believe that this article describes the method in detail
