Extreme power saving

Hi at all!

I wondering in order to save as much as possibile power supply in a battery configuration where I use Arduino and a GSM shield (http://www.geeetech.com/wiki/index.php/Arduino_GPRS_Shield).

During power save time, when GSM shield is powered down, I check a power consumption of 0.012A. There is a green LED that is all time powered, can I unsolder it without cause problems? There are also other two red leds that stays for GSM connection, can I unsolder them?

There are other hardware ways that can save precious power?

Thanks!!!

PS Sorry for my little English!!

Although it's not ideal, you could de-solder those LED's if you really, really want to.

I just did it, it works perfectly!!
