faceplates

is there a faceplate for these:

so when you mount these into something it'll look nice..

example:
if i cut out a slot in a piece of wood or plastic for it to fit into.. is there a faceplace for a better appealing look?

something like this perhaps:

so it looks neater like this..

there's just not enough digits in that example tho..

The clue is coloured acrylic. For a single device, you can often get off-cuts at an acrylic vendor. Then you need some skill with carpentry tools.

The words you need to google are
seven segment display bezel

Lots available.

Or a laser cutter!

Yeah, like everyone has one sitting in the shed.

I know someone who does. Wish I did too.

Surely it makes more sense if you use his, rather than each of you having one.

These things should be community holdings like 3D printers - you supply the consumables as you use them and share the initial cost. Like a "Men's Shed" (albeit we should not discriminate  ). Of course, only people with the necessary competencies should be allowed to use them.

I seem to recall from another discussion, that the CO2 lasers actually last longer being used regularly.
