Fade In and Out Led Strip

Hello,

I'm using regular 12V Led Strip and a PIR sensor to detect motion. I've made this circuit in order to make fade in and out effect when motion detected. With circuit i've made this setup works almost well but there is little delay (about close to 1 second) that is annoying. When motion detected PIR 2nd pin goes HIGH (5v level), and capacitor gets charged, delay happens (I think voltage gets enough to feed FET) and FET slowly Fades In led strip. I admit my circuit is really dirty. What can be done to solve delay problem?

I've tried changing resistor's and capacitor's value, but there is always delay.

Sorry, not micro, i should change it.

I go kitchen to drink water, PIR looks to door, and when i appear at door Leds should fade in, but it fades when i took 1 or 2 steps, about close to a second.

i think it would be easier to help you if you give us a diagram of the cuircuit and not what the printed board looks like.

It seems that the 3.3volt output of the PIR is connected to the gate of a mosfet.
With a simple R/C delay circuit.

The "fade" time is set by the resistor and the capapcitor.
If you want it to fade faster, you have to use a lower value cap or a lower value resistor.

Don't forget that the PIR also has a reaction time.
And that the PIR mainly detects sideway movements, not towards/away.
