Is anyone familiar with this board. I have lost the box and any documetation, but the website calls it the "KeyeStudio 328 Wifi Plus Main Control Board for Arduino Uno".
Described as an Uno Compatible board with ATMEGA328 and ESP8266, containing all features of Uno R3 and the ESP8266 developement Board.
I want to use simply as an Uno R3 but can find the board in the Board Manager. I am a newbie, so be gentle with me......

Yes, it's a combo board. I bought one years ago, but I have never used it. I may be misremembering, but isn't there a bunch of jumpers on the bottom you need to configure?
If you are just learning programming, I strongly recommend getting a real UNO and the Arduino Cookbook. When you finish the book, you will have a better idea of what to do next.

I have some Arduino boards and no problems. I was trying to make us of this knock off.....

If I understood that manual correct, you use that board just as an Uno.
