Faulhaber Encoder Question

Hi,

I was using a Faulhaber motor with magnetic encoder. I was wondering if anyone could give me guidance on how to integrate this with an Arduino Uno, like how do get readings from the encoder.

Connect VDD and GND of the Encoder to the Arduino 5V and GND.

Connect ChannelA & ChannelB to two input pins on the arduino.

Try testing this with a sketch meant for an encoder knob. Simple.

Now, to control the motor with feedback from the encoder, you need to look into PID control, which isn't easy.

Can someone post a sample code for a magnetic rotary encoder.

Would I place channel A & B into the digital, or analogue pins. and why are there two channels? don't you just need one? :~

The outputs behave just exactly like an encoder knob. You connect these to any pins on the Arduino (except the pin0 and 1) and read them as digital pins.
