Hey @lentilcapacitor I have the same module as you (the one in the original picture) and I am curious why do you have the RX pin connected to your device? Can you send to it any commands? I tried to send commands to it and I don't get any replies. The reading works like you described though, when I get a tag close to it, the device sends me the ID of the tag in UTF-8 with a CRLF (0D0A) in the end.
From the looks of the device I thought that the device is the M30Z134 for which there is an English datasheet with the commands available but nothing worked for me. I later figured out from a Chinese document that I found online that the device can be configured to be in "active mode" where the RX pin of the device is unused.
