Feasibility of a remote controlled group of LEDs with manual fade

Hello all! I'm a complete beginner to any sort of hobby electronics and I'm trying to research the possibility of using an arduino to remotely control a light fixture for a live performance.

Basically what I would be like to do is control the fading in and out of 8-10 blue LEDs using a virtual slider on my ipad from a distance of approximately 300 ft. Is that something that I would be able to set up using an arduino (and some additional components?)

Thanks!

I think 300 ft. is too far for regular WiFi, and definitely too far for Bluetooth, so at the very least you will need two arduinos, and perhaps a couple of high-gain antennas (Google "cantenna" for a low-cost solution).
