Ive made an arduino project to count my fencing score. Because its wireless I had a problem because I had no common ground. (Possible to equal floating grounds? - General Electronics - Arduino Forum)
This can be solved by measuring the capacitance of the other human on the guard. But now I stumbled upon the problem that I cant see the difference between the side of the blade touching the guard and the depressed button touching the guard.
This could be a problem when for example you touch the enemies guard with the side of your blade and then hit his body. You will say you hit him but his guard will register a capacitance increase, so say it was a hit on the guard.
Does anyone have any suggestions for this, except for wrapping your blade in isolation or something like that.
