Filter design for GY 521 Accelerometer+Gyroscope

Hi,
I would like to design filters for GY 521 Accelerometer+Gyscope. I want to do it with the Z-transformation but the problem is that I don't know how to calculate coefficients of equations.
Are there anyone who can help me do it?

I did some reading on Z-transform, and I think I can almost grasp it. Why do you need frequency filtering ? I hope it is not to filter the noise out of it ?
