I did a search and found nothing, but i cannot believe I'm the first to suggest it. Arduino Droid's text search needs "find and replace" and "replace all" buttons. Massive time saver in any IDE if you need to change a variable name in multiple documents (ino,h,cpp).
Hello
You may use NP++.
I believe the category here is "suggest a feature" not "gatekeep people you assume are new because they didnt state the obvious"
but thanks anyway.
Find and replace is a feature common to literally every text search used in any web browser, IDE, or word processor produced in this millenium. It's clearly an oversight or something no one's been available to bother with.
Who is the author of 'Arduino Droid' ?
...and more to the point, what is "Arduino Droid"?
ArduinoDroid - Arduino/ESP8266/ESP32 IDE for Android: Introduction ?
Note: this is NOT an official Arduino team application, but a 3rd-party mobile application with the same functionality developed and supported by an independent developer.
That is the droid I'm looking for.
(Sorry, I just had to set that one up - it took a little longer for someone to bite than I expected)
You’ve probably gathered by now, that most of the ‘experienced’ developers on here don’t use the IDE as their premium dev tool.
I too use NP++ Visual Studio and other editors / tool chains to do more than blink a LED, or misuse an RCservo.
(Hint: Serial Monitor is almost useless as an operational user interface)
You might give them a run, esp with their advanced editors.
What do you recommend as an IDE for Android on mobile devices like phones and tablets?
I pretty much think that editing text on a phone is a lost cause, so I haven't paid much attention, but I haven't noticed any phone apps with a find&replace editor function (or, you know, ANY "editor functions.")
I rather expect that ArduinoDroid is using some standard "editor panel" service, and standard "code editor" functions are just ... not there.
Gair point, but I tried Android twice over its life (as a phone), and wasn’t impressed.
I certainly don’t regard anything more portable than a connected laptop as a development environment.
Good for browsing and email, but that’s about it.
Scotty I cant help you.
