I'm having some problems with the new format. Previously when I clicked on my icon it showed me active discussions I had been involved with. Now it just shows me this - "popular links" and old discussions.
Also I cant find how to message a contributor to a discussion. Previously if I clicked on their icon it would open a message. If there is a new way to do this I cant find it. Hints please?

Thanks JML - to get any sense I need to go to "activity"; the bell still shows the same rubbish.
Ah - I needed to dismiss entries.
And here I see no option to message this contributor in relation to this thread?
ah - he must have blocked messages. This one works
you can decide to make your profile private, this likely hides the possibility to send a private message.
(if you go to your messages and start a new message you can still manually add their names but I would think twice about doing so as some users just don't want PM)
I tried that a couple of weeks ago to ask if you could participate in a Mac topic; I did not want to use a mention in the topic itself. The result was a popup stating that "J-M-L does not accepts messages at this time".
I eventually used "dismiss" to get rid of them. After dismissing the latest ones will be on top (but no longer marked as "new/updated").
ah.... sorry for that 
It's OK for experienced members of the forum to flag something to me so feel free to use @J-M-L (I don't want newbies to do that though)
