I'm planning to build an alarm clock composed of Nixie tubes. The major concern is obviously where to find them. Searching on the internet, i found Ask Jan First, which sells the awesome Russian IN-18 tube.

Has anyone already purchased items from him ?
Thanks in advance.
There are many, many sellers on eBay, a lot of them in Russia or old Soviet countries where it seems the Nixie factory was run more according to what they 10-year-plan thought demand would be rather than what it actually was. There are actually a lot of NOS nixie tubes out there. I got 34 IN-12 tubes from a a Russian for $48 shipped. PalPal gives his name as Igor Yarin though I don't think that was what he did business on eBay as. I would say look for tubes there. There always seems to be a good selection of Soviet Nixies and VFD tubes.
