I want to use a finger print scanner to be able to start a motorbike. (This is the scanner, Fingerprint Scanner - TTL (GT-521F52) - SEN-14585 - SparkFun Electronics )
I was wondering how I would make it so I could have the scanner plugged into an Arduino and when the scanner detects a positive print it would send a pulse/ complete a switch that would start the bike. I was planning on using one of those nifty little microdunios because of there size. Also, is there some sort of "power saving mode" that the ardiuno can be in until it needs to actually read do its job of completing the switch? Take a look at the scanner, it's quite cool and I quite intelligent.
Maybe build an off/on switch into the scanner itself.
