Hi,
I am building a galvo laser engraver. The arduino needs to take G-code as input and then send the corresponding signals to control the servo motor drivers. What firmware can I use to achieve this?
Thanks,
Marinus

Hi,
First, what IS a
galvo laser engraver
Here is a link:
It is essentially two mirrors that maneuver the laser beam to where the engraving needs to happen. But that link has a short video that explains it.
Any help would be appreciated and let me know if you need more information.

Hi,
OK, so are you planning to move the mirrors with "typical servos" rather than galvanometers?
That may allow a simplified system, but without really high speed.
Some have used mirrors attached to "loudspeaker-like" permanent-magnet transducers.
In any of these cases the geometry will probably have non-linearities you would have to handle in code..
No we are using galvanometers.
cool ...uhm...BUT...
so, you want to build a galvo marker, right?
ok, so you already have:
f-theta lense - around $500 in china
beamexpander - around $300 in china - also depends on wavelength
galvos - let me guess - chinese ilda galvos?
galvo driver - guessing again - also chinese driver with galvos for 100 bucks?
ok, so you spend round about 1000 bucks, without any tube
my advise? buy a chinese ezcad controller clone for 250 bucks
forget your diy arduino galvo scanner project, its wasted money!!
where i know this? ... guess
