Firmware update SM130 RFID

I'm trying to update the firmware on my SM130 RFID reader. I am using the SONMicro program on a Window's Vista computer. I am also using the. I keep getting the response "Error!Unexpected Response:FF. Make sure module exited from configuration mode." Any ideas to remedy this? Thanks in advance.

An update. I installed the virtual com port driver, but now I keep getting an error message "unable to open com port (win error 05)" Any ideas?
