First advise on building a quadcopter

Hi

I have been toying with the idea of building a quad copter completely from scratch. I think it would make a fun challenge to try to do so. The basic Idea is that you have two arduinos. One transmitter and one receiver. I would also like to use a go pro (with wifi on) on the quadcopter. What I wonder is this: what options do I have concerning the transmitting of data? I know that there can be Interference with the Gopros wifi, so that limits my options i guess? Also I want to make the drone "autonomous" to a certain degree at least, its hard to explain what I mean by that, but the point is that it means that it would be of advantage to have 2 way communication.

What options do I have concerning the transmitting and receiving? (Bluetooth, wifi, etc?)

I think Bluetooth and wifi are both range limited.
Probably need to go 2.4GHz. I saw some RC flying a couple weekends ago, one of the planes had first person video, pretty sure it was using a 2.4GHz system for transmitting.
Check out FPV at www.hobbyking.com
They're also a good source for parts, with videos on balancing motors & props too that will be helpful.
