First example problem, AnalogReadSerial

Hi all,

I have just opened my new arduino's one package and tried first example.
It is all good but when I turn the potentiometer and the voltage rises at the adc input the board and the serial monitor hang.
Anyone could tell me why?

Check the wiring , you might have short circuited the system with the potmeter.
Check the voltage with a voltmeter

Cheked 2 times with two another potentiomers and ok.
Maybe defective potentiometer.
