I really don't know what I'm talking about what I'm talking about, so please correct me on any terms I use wrong.
I would like the have a receiver that is plugged into the wall as a home base sort of thing. I need a device that can activate an indicator (Such as an LED Or send a signal to another object) when it is at a certain distance away. Also I would like for when it receives power to send the same signal.. I feel like this would be quite simple, just nailing out how the devices talk to each other and how the remote can talk to the third object. Maybe bluetooth? Has this been done? Is there better ways to complete the task? Thanks in advance and again I am sorry for how dumb this may sound.
From the very general discription, what is described probably can be done, but the "I feel like this would be quite simple," is off base for an inexperienced person to attempt as a first project. YMMV!
The devices talking to each other is not too difficult, but getting the range is.
If you can tell any more constraints (can't be line-of-sight etc), a better answer may be forthcoming.
Thanks for the replies! Basically what I want to do is have a garage opener in my car so when I'm in range of my house the door opens and when the car turns on the door opens. Soo... an Automatic automatic garage door opener. A buddy of mine and me want to work on this, he has much much more programing knowledge than I do. Is there anything that can point us in the right direction?
