First time 3D POV Project

Hi Guys
I am about to undergo a project for my final piece at university using this technology. I am new to Arduino and have only a general understanding of electronics.
I am trying to produce a 3D POV display made up of what I think would be several propeller "clock-like" set ups stacked in a row...I have created a quick pdf of what I think it would look like but am unsure as to what parts I will need.
Is there anyone out there who has done a similar project that they wouldn't mind helping me out with.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Slip rings are one commodity that spring to mind

I'm going to sound like such a noob...but what do they do ??

Get power and/or signals from the non-rotatey bit to the rotatey bit without twisting cables.

Optical interfaces and batteries can allow you to avoid them.

Edit: spelling "without"

Slip rings provide a connection on a rotating shaft. An example you might be familiar with is a headphone jack. The contacts go all the way around the diameter of the shaft, but are separated. So if you were to rotate the plug, you would not lose connection.

In a POV display, this is how power and signalling is transferred to the "wings" which are rotating.

Ahhh that makes sense !! I was intending on having the motor static and everything else spinning, so the slip rings would make that possible then yeah ??

Thanks for that
