Hello, first time poster, new to Arduino. For our project we intend to wire a Flex Touch (touch screen mesh that goes behind the glass on the Note 4 tablet, see link below) to an Arduino with BT radio so we can send the inputs via BT to an existing BT device. However we know very little about the Flex Touch, so it is difficult to proceed.
I have searched online and searched these forums also, but I cannot seem to find enough information on this Flex Touch (for a Samsung Galaxy Note 4). I did watch some videos on Note 4 screen repair to try and understand better if this part combined with Arduino would do the job, but that was not enlightening. I expected that I could find at the very least a data sheet for the part, but so far all I can find are links to purchase as a replacement part. My client ordered the part as a repair part for the tablet, thinking it would serve our purposes; hence no information about power, output, etc was included. This is the part, different vendor:
I am unsure if I should
- expect to build a controller to convert the touch inputs to coordinates, OR
- expect to purchase additional hardware i.e. Flex Touch controller? (in this case, Arduino would be used for handling BT radio)
We plan to add an insulating layer on top of the mesh, and use a stylus to generate inputs. We're not opposed to adding more hardware, but we are thinking if we knew the interface to the Flex Touch we could program Arduino to handle the inputs. Anyone with experience using Flex Touch, touchscreens, etc, please chime in!
