so I'm disabled, and regular mobility aids often don't help. i don't need/can't afford a wheel chair, but i can't stand for long periods of time. so i figure a little follow me bot that can serve as a bag and place to sit would help day to day life.
i understand how to put parts together to make what i want, but I'm brand new to arduino, i don't understand the coding.
i dont think i'll make anything after this, but i'd appreciate advice, articles, similar projects ect.

What you've described is an expert level project. You will need to understand coding and understand it pretty well to tackle this one.
There are projects out there but I do not remember what. I saw a golf bag device for one. Look at COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf) devices, maybe some of then configured as needed may work.
Can you elaborate more on your idea?
