Following transportation platform

Hi,

I am very new to Arduino and so far been only succeeded with 1 project (obstacle avoiding robot with 4 motors) build with my kid.

Need a small recommendation to not blow the money on going in the wrong direction...

So I have big land and a dog kennel. Twice a day regularly I have to transport around 40kg in the same way. From home to kennel and empty back. I'm thinking of it since recently had an injury to my lower back and in all honestly, I'm young in mind but just hurt me carrying this 40kg...

Of course I could ask my son or wife for help but that would just be wrong... so....

was thinking on a platform build 1m length and 80cm wide with 4 motors (pretty much same principle as with obstacle avoiding robot), also 3 ultrasonic sensors (no servo as weather is not stable here and need it closed behind a plexy see through glass).

Another option is to follow Bluetooth device.

Now my question is.... since I'm hoping to use 4 engines DC 36v each power was about 220w each if I remember (sorry came not prepared  ) will the Uno plate be smart to go? or rather some upgraded model?

4 engines 36v 220w each
ultrasonic x3
Bluetooth possibly?

not sure if gps would be a good idea since wory of accuracy
not sure if its beter to use ultrasonic or led's?

So... can anyone more experienced then me advice on how to go with my personal Alfred?

Uno is good enough. E-Bike Battery can be as power source, small step down converter for powering Arduino and sensors. GPS is really not necessary.

Hi, @qba123

Welcome to the forum.
Congratulations on your first project up and running.

I understand you would like to build a buggy to carry you and your load, is that right.

Tom... :+1: :coffee: :australia:
PS. I sympathize with your lower back, I have had similar a thing happen and it makes life very difficult.

Hia. thanks yes and no
Just carry the load not me...

Yeah I am 36 and feel like 70 for last month... But it will pass so ok. Atleast have some possibility and motivation to do some builds

Super thank you. And possibly can you advice on max power for exgines availaible to be delivered or suported by uno? Just to know as a top limit

Arduino is digitat component and provide almost no power. to control a motors are bunch of drivers on the market. you can look at some e-scate (or long board) project for understanding how all work together.

sory I misunderstood.

driver is one thing... but can this driver be controlled via arduino? or do they have own microcontroller in them modules?

look for learning:

Now do note that the "follow me robot" topic has frequently been previously discussed here.

The most - and in fact probably only - practical approach to have the powered platform follow you, short of seriously expensive technology, it to have it on a leash which tethers to a joystick to drive it in the direction the leash - which is tied to your belt - is pulled.

yes I will read bit more about it.
