Food grade pump ?

Hello,

I'd like to control a pump with my arduino but it should be ok to push batter through it.

Do you know where I should be looking to buy such kind of items ?

Regards,
Frederic

first thing that popped in my head was a modified meat grinder :-?

Is this for making like doughnuts or something?
How big of a batter batch are you looking to dispense?

I'd like to make pancakes.
The idea is to have a container full of batter and once the pan break a light ray a single serving of batter is dispensed in the pan.

It's a bit off topic but now that I think about it remote sensing pan temperature would be a nice add on.

they have those funnel things, where you push the button and it plops out enough for a pancake

you could use a solenoid to push the button I imagine

@osgeld,

That is exactly the kind of thing I was thinking.
Something like this but on a smaller scale.

Just the batter head without all the other stuff to cook them.

aye

Now that's a great find... ;D

I want two....

A homebrew peristaltic wouldn't be too difficult to build; use food-grade silicone tubing...

Thick material like dough and thick batters doesn't generally travel threw a pipe via a pump. Often its pushed threw using a large screw in a pipe. This also works well with dry goods. With the right size pipe and screw you could have either a full or a partial turn dispense the exact amount of the product you need.
